David Smith, inventor of Trax has died

It is with sadness that I have to report that David Smith died this morning (25/7/2018) in hospital at 1am NZST at age 91. David has left a considerable legacy in terms of Trax, and many other games. #65 of 74

New Trax Variant!

GoldToken.com have introduced a new Trax variant - Lucky Trax. Its the same as Trax except the tile orientation is preselected at random, and you have to play the tile in that orientation in your turn. There's also a tournament starting on the 26th that is open to guests! #36 of 74

The archive of commented games has been updated so that now all of the games are in the new notation. The archive has been expanded, and now contains 300 commented games.
Boardspace have added Trax to their online games server. If there is nobody there, you can play one of their two robot players: dumbbot and smartbot.

The web view of Richard's PBeM Server Trax games has been integrated with the rest of the Trax site. You can also view LoopTrax and 8x8Trax games now - these were previously unavailable from the original viewer.
Users can now login to My Trax where you can set a few preferences. Registering with MyTrax will also allow you to participate in the Trax Forum. Watch for more features to be added to MyTrax during the coming months.
The long awaited Trax Forum is now operational. You have to sign up to MyTrax to be able to post, but anyone can read the messages.

A new feature has been added to the PBMServer web listings: When you view a game, there is now an e-mail link that fills in the address and subject fields of your email. If you have registered your userid and password, these are also entered automatically. All you need to enter is your move and send.
